“We have a cookbook that some of our customers helped put together, and you have recipes ranging from Asian to Indian food to American classics, like pancakes and hamburgers. You can really do whatever you want if you can think of it as just a pan. Anything that you can cook in a pan you can do in the Skottle and anything that you can do in your barbecue you can also do. Steaks are fabulous, just like on a cast iron skillet but with the lid, we can bake with it as well. We make cookies, sweet rolls, and biscuits. We even smoke meat. We’ve got a tray, and we add wet wood chips underneath turn the burner real low, and put ribs half hour on one side fire half hour on the other side, and they just fall off right the bone.” – Jerry & Bryan L’Ecuyer Owners of Tembo Tusk.

We asked Jerry and Bryan about the ease of use of cleaning their Skottles. I think you will be pleasantly surprised with how easy they find this! It is even easier than one might expect thanks, largely, because there’s the nearly indestructible cooking surface on these bad boys – pre-seasoned from day 1 (and getting better with every use).
