The Backslider
If you flat tow a car behind your RV, then you are probably aware of everything that can go wrong while trying to back up with the car still attached. Kenny & Sabrina damaged their tow bar while trying to reverse out of a spot once and completely replaced their tow bar. Luckily though, someone is working on a solution, and that person is Richard Larson. He has a background in Aerospace design, and some of his work is even on the international space station. Rick also has a love for RVing and wanted to use his background in design to work out a solution for backing up a tow car safely without the risk of damage or injury.
Rick tells us all about his new product, the Backslider. The Backslider will allow RVers to safely back their tow car up. In a sense, it gives a tow car the characteristics of a trailer when reversing. If you have never heard of the Backslider before, don’t feel bad because it has not hit the market yet, and we are giving you the exclusive right here on today’s show. The Backslider has been in development for six years. Rick takes us through the entire process from idea and testing to now looking for a manufacturer to start production. Rick did a great job explaining the process to us and giving us straightforward terms to understand, like trying to attach Scotch tape to bacon, it’s just not going to work.
