Giveaway
Welcome everyone to our 95th episode, and we have a big announcement. We brought our wives to the show to help share in the excitement.
To celebrate our upcoming 100th episode, Battle Born Batteries provides us with a 100ah 12-volt battery as a giveaway prize to one lucky listener! The giveaway is live right now and will run for 8 weeks. To enter the giveaway, we just need your email so that we can contact you if you win. The winner will be selected by a third-party app called King Sumo, and if you are selected, you will have the choice of either Battle Born Batteries GC2 or 10012. Both of these batteries are 100ah batteries with identical specs. The only difference is their shape, so it depends on where you are trying to place them.
This is where our wives, Julie and Sabrina, come in. You folks have heard us talk about how great Battle Born Batteries are for the last few years. So we thought it would be a good idea for Julie and Sabrina to share what they like about Battle Born Batteries.
FMCA Rally
Hey all, We have just returned from the FMCA Rally and are happy to report that the live shows were successful! We did eight live interviews over four days, and they all went smoothly without one technical issue. If that is not a win, I don’t know what is. Chris Smith, the CEO of FMCA, was our first interview and kicked off the week for us. He was followed by a discussion with Blue Ox. We kept day two going with interviews from Fantasy RV Tours & Roadmaster. Day three came up quickly for us, and we interviewed The REV group & Henderson Line Up. Then, before we knew it, we were on the last day where we interviewed the creator of the RV A/C Silencer and the President of Passport America. We really enjoyed our time at the rally, and if you missed any of the live interviews, you can catch replays of them on our Facebook page. We will also take all the live episodes and edit them into special FMCA rally edition interviews. Look for them to hit all major podcast platforms shortly.
We want to thank the FMCA for being such gracious hosts and all the guests who took the time out of their busy schedules to sit down and chat with us. The FMCA was very happy with how the live podcasts went, and it sounds like we will be at their 105th Rally in Lincoln, Nebraska, at the end of August. We hope to see you there! If you are not a member of the FMCA just yet, here is a discount code that will take $10 off your first-year membership BTW10, or click this link to be taken right to their signup page.
RV AC Silencer
One of the guests we had at the FMCA Rally was the owner and creator of the RV AC Silencer. After speaking with Darrell about the benefits of the silencer, I purchased one from him at the show and installed it when I got to our home base. I can say it works! And it works well! It does everything he said. It would, in fact, I feel like he downplayed just how much more airflow we would get out of our vents. There is a significant increase of air coming out of all our ductwork vents which helps our RV cool down sooner and lets the A/C Cycle for shorter periods.
RV NEWS
Demand for RVs remains high
But as its sales have grown, its inventory has continued to shrink: The RV and boat maker now has a $4.37 billion backlog. And Mike Happe, the president and CEO of Winnebago Industries, predicts its ongoing supply chain issues will continue this year.
Thor Industries — which oversees 17 brands like Jayco and Airstream —Thor now has a $17.73 billion backlog, an over 60% increase compared to the year prior.
Lost RVers with a sad ending
The motorhome was stuck. They slept one night and, in the morning, disconnected their tow car and tried to drive to an area with cell service. Unfortunately, it also got stuck just 2 miles from the motorhome.
What followed were several agonizing days. Neither Ronnie nor Bev was in particularly good health. Ronnie was a cancer survivor, and both he and Bev were diabetics. They hadn’t thought to take blankets, food, or water with them when they left the motorhome. With temperatures in the 20s by night, it didn’t take long for Ronnie to fall seriously ill.
