An RV Podcast
Welcome to Beyond the Wheel’s Driver’s Edition! This is an RV podcast with a focus on the people and products that make RVing great.
This is the episode where we talk about what’s new in the RV industry.
Bruce from Texas came up with the name Drivers Edition and is the winner of the Micro Air Easy Start giveaway. Thank you, Bruce, and thank you to everyone who participated.
Giveaway
Speaking of giveaways, we would like to announce that we teamed up with Sun RV to giveaway a $250 voucher good for any Sun RV across the country. You can enter the contest now at our Beyond the Wheel website. You have until August 31st to get your name in the drawing.
RV News
Some of the things discussed in this episode:
Ford is making an F-150 3.5L EcoBoost V-6 hybrid engine that will be matched up with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Sean and Kenny talk about why the pickup truck’s features could be so beneficial for campers and RVers.
Garmin has a new RV navigation device geared for the outdoor lifestyle. Garmin’s RV 890 features a large 8-inch touchscreen display that can be viewed in portrait or landscape, and its software has RVers in mind with not only campgrounds and national parks, but with pre-programmed off-grid locations as well.
Furrion announced that they are entering the rooftop A/C market with two new A/C units, one will be a 14.5K BTU and the other 15.5K BTU. Furrion says their A/C units will be able to cool 50% better, run 50% quieter, and use less power than the competition. These are already for sale aftermarket, but please let us know if you spot one on a new RV.
RV sales are up, according to RV News June of 2020 sales are higher than June of 2019, and this appears to be a trend that is going to continue.
Unfortunately, we also have some bad news to share. This year’s Hershey RV show is canceled. We were very disappointed because we were planning on going to show together, and hoped to meet up with some listeners while there. We, of course, understand why it had to be canceled. The show draws enormous crowds, and it would be challenging to practice social distancing while touring RV’s.
We hope you enjoyed this episode and ask if you could leave a rating or review. This helps the show get ranked and allows it to reach a broader audience. Take care everyone, and safe travels!!
