History of Winnebago’s Accessibility Enhanced Vehicles
Winnebago has been making Accessibility Enhanced Vehicles for the past 40 years, but these were always custom orders, and the process from ordering to delivery could take up to 12 months. The company reduced wait time by making these vehicles dealer stock. Winnebago has taken these years of building experience to make this process more streamlined and create a variety of floor plans to choose from.
Jamie Sorenson, Director of Specialty Vehicles and Advanced Technology for Winnebago, sits down with us to talk about why it was so important to get these vehicles into dealer stock. Other topics include the research, the difference in the production process, the challenges of building these vehicles, and who will benefit from them.
Sean and I had the opportunity to meet Jamie in person. He took us on a tour of the Forza 34 T model. The spacious layout and added features that could benefit everyone at any level of mobility were impressive.
