If you’re an RV traveler looking for a fun place to spend an RV vacation, look no further than Camp Margaritaville. This campground has amenities and activities that will keep you entertained all day long. From swimming and sunbathing to bowling and two bars, there’s something for everyone at Camp Margaritaville. And don’t forget the margaritas! Whether you’re a fan of frozen or on the rocks, this campground has got you covered.
About Camp Margaritaville
Camp Margaritaville opened in the fall of 2021 and is located in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. This campground is located at the end of town, closest to the entrance to Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The campground sits at the top of a hill off the main road through Pigeon Forge, so there is no noise other than the sound of Jimmy Buffet coming from the speakers at the pool and lazy river.
The RV sites at Camp Margaritaville are excellent. They’re all level, paved, and include 30- and 50-amp electric, water, sewer, fire ring, picnic table, and cable hookups. There are 170+ sites with three different lengths and widths. A staff member is available at the check-in booth around the clock, so there is no need to stress about arriving at a certain time. The roads are wide, so there are no worries about backing into your site. If you have family or friends coming that do not have an RV, there is a hotel on the property.
One thing this campground does better than any other is wifi. The wifi service here is better than at any other campground we have stayed at. We performed a speed test while on the wifi, and the screen capture of the results is below. I am not sure how they do it, but it was impressive.
There’s no need to worry about getting bored at this campground. Whether you want to relax by the pool or get active with some of the many activities, there’s always something to do. And when you need a break from the sun, head over to the bar for a refreshing margarita. You can even go downstairs in the main building for all sorts of indoor fun, from pool and foosball to arcade games. Outside there is a pool with a waterslide, a hot tub, a lazy river, volleyball, pickle ball, and other outdoor games. On the weekend, there was live music to enjoy.
The Food
The restaurant on the property had an excellent breakfast buffet with all of the breakfast items you can think of. It was $9.95, and they had everything from eggs and bacon to fruit, pancakes, and french toast. We ate there every morning we were at Camp Margaritaville. We also ate dinner at the restaurant a few times. It serves what I would call casual American food. The desserts included key lime pie and chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream. The other food on site was at the snack bar located near the bowling and game rooms. We did not purchase anything at the snack bar, but I saw ice cream on the list. There was also a coffee shop that also had soft drinks and canned alcohol. You could even get a shot of Kahlua in your morning cup of Joe if you wanted.
The One Con
One complaint I expect to see as a comment is that it is expensive to stay there. Our site was about $120 per night. I would say that you get what you pay for, and we thought it was worth it. This is not an RV park that would be great for long-term stays for full-timers, but as a vacation spot with the family or just that special someone, it is perfect for a week as long as you plan and save for the expense. The bottom line is that it is a great vacation spot, especially if you enjoy the amenities and the outdoor adventure available in the area.
We did not do a lot of exploring in Pigeon Forge, but it seemed like a tourist town with a lot of activities to choose from. The main drag through town was full of businesses catering to tourism. So, if you are looking for fun indoor activities, they are certainly available. We chose to spend our time at the campground and the national park.
From the amazing amenities to the great location, this campground has become my new favorite vacation spot. So what are you waiting for? Come on down to Camp Margaritaville and have some fun!
